  A large Chinese that hasn't changed over the years whilst Allerton has got more and more pretentious. The food here is great and they do takeout too which is wonderful for those 'can't be bothered to cook but don't want a crappy takeaway' moments.
  
  The staff here are lovely too. Polite to a fault and very attentive, you never have an empty glass on the table and your food is always served promptly and nice and hot (I hate it when you get food that's obviously been sitting on a hot plate in the kitchen). There's your typical Chinese menu with some other influences thrown in for good measure, but I generally tend to go for the crispy duck because it is amazing. They make an effort to acknowledge regulars and their preferences, even if you are only using it is a handy takeaway.
  
  Probably one of the best Chinese restaurants in South Liverpool.

  After visiting the Eastern Diner today, I have to say I was sorely disappointed. The food was marginal, bordering on bad, and the service was not stellar. I had to get up and walk across the restaurant to the waitstaff and ask for help multiple times -- no one came by our table to refill our glasses during the whole meal. Maybe the dinner experience is better than lunch, but I definitely won't be returning to see.

  From the outside the Eastern Diner admittedly looks a little dodgy, I don't suppose you would even know it was a chinese...  However as soon as you step inside your attitude will change. The staff are lovely, and provide a really attentive service to all of their customers.
  The food is yum and affordable, there are many buffet options for the larger party. The atmosphere is really great and chilled out. A great place to go to unwind after a long week at work!

  If my decision to go into the Eastern Diner was based on how it looked from the outside, then I probably wouldn't go in. However, fortunately the restaurant was recommended to me by a friend, which prompted me to go. In terms of the menu, you certainly won't struggle for choice, that's for sure, unless of course you don't like chinese, but even then they have a small selection of english dishes such as steak and chips, lamb and chicken. For the vegetarians of this world, vegetables are scattered throughout the menu as well as there being a whole section on vegetarian soup and dishes. Not a veggie myself, but quite a few of my friends are so I am always interested to see what is on offer. I do also sometimes go for vegetarian dishes when I have had too much meat and too few vegetables. Helpful and friendly staff.

  A great restaurant situated very close to Allerton Library and opposite Yates. Parking is very easy. The food is excellent. The building used to house the Beanshoot restaurant and going back many years it used to be a small local Tesco.
  
  The food is fantastic. There are always plenty of staff and they are very courteous. They really make my family feel welcome.
  
  The food is also second to none. They also cater for the business meal during the day. The atmosphere when I have been there has always been relaxed with nice tranquil music played.
